The purpose of this project is to trial and demonstrate how scaling of particular practices (or combinations of practices) to improve management of natural capital, can build drought resilience. Through this, the project aims to create and communicate an evidence base and case studies that contribute to scaling out the successful practices.
The project will be run across two years during which five groups of farmers will be coached to assess pastures and feed budgets.
Groups will be trained in Ag360, a free online software tool that can record farm details and predict farm parameters such as soil moisture, pasture growth and forecasted animal weight.
Each group will meet 6 times a year to assess their pastures and share their successes and failures, enabling the whole group to learn from each other’s experiences.
