NSW Farmers’ Association is currently rolling out a Federal Government funded grant referred to as Educating Kids about Agriculture: Kids to Farms. The grant is funded by the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment. The aim of the program is to increase engagement between primary producers and primary school students in order to improve students’ understanding of the Australian agriculture industry.

Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Assistance is being provided through the jointly funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) Cat D.
This initial $434.7 million of funding, from the Commonwealth and New South Wales governments, will be provided to support communities clean up and remove damage and debris, as well as further support local government areas (LGAs) that have been flood-affected.
Grants of up to $75,000 for primary producers and up to $50,000 for small businesses, and not for profit organisations devastated by flooding will soon be available through NSW Government agencies, with registration now open through Service NSW. This program will be demand driven.

The Dollar for Dollar Native Fish Stocking Program was introduced in 1998 by NSW DPI to benefit anglers. The program aims to enhance recreational freshwater fishing opportunities, to support local communities in the stocking high value native fish species, to assist in the development of regional aquaculture industries and to increase community and industry involvement in, and awareness of responsible stocking.

Does the price tag stop you doing Landcare work? Did you know primary producers are eligible for a number of tax rebates for undertaking Landcare works?
Sometimes it can seem more effort than it's worth, wading through the technical language, forms and what-have-you to get to the nitty gritty.
However, Lisette Mill and the Basalt to Bay organisation, based in Victoria, have been working closely with the Australian Taxation Office to produce simple, easy-to-read guidelines to help farmers get the rebates they are entitled to for doing landcare works.
