Researchers from the University of New England, led by Professor Kim Usher and Dr. Kylie Rice, have launched a national survey to assess the physical and psychological impacts of extreme weather on Australian farmers.
As climate events become more frequent, farmers face increased challenges, affecting both their livelihoods and wellbeing.
The study, in collaboration with farming organisations, seeks to understand how farmers are coping and what support they need.
The goal is to guide health practitioners to provide more holistic care, with the hope that their findings will contribute to creating more resilient farming practices and communities.
