NSW Farmers is urging support for a pro-farming rally in Canberra on 10 September to oppose decisions they say threaten Australia's food and fibre production.

NSW Farmers President Xavier Martin stated that the rally outside Parliament House is a critical moment to challenge policies undermining the farming sector and to protect food security.

Martin highlighted concerns about policies such as the proposed double tax on farmers for biosecurity, the impact of renewable energy projects on rural areas, water management issues in the Basin communities, and the ban on live sheep exports.

He emphasized the need for decisions that support farmers, who play a crucial role in feeding and clothing the nation.

The rally aims to demonstrate widespread support for the agricultural industry and call for a reversal of what are viewed as anti-farming policies.

The event will start at 11am on 10 September at Federation Mall, opposite Parliament House.
