The Master TreeGrower program is about multipurpose tree growing. It encourages land managers to establish and manage trees for reasons that matter to them: shade, shelter, aesthetics, land degradation control, habitat, income... and shows them how.
Trees are capable of generating income from a variety of products, e.g. native foods, biofuels, seed, flowers, foliage, truffles, honey, essential oils and timber. The Master TreeGrower Porgram provides participants with practical science-based knowledge, credible information networks, practical skills and guidance on what can be achieved with trees and forests on farms.
Who should attend? Farmers, land managers, land management advisors and anyone interested in tree or vegetation management.
When? 8 days during September & October, starting from 27 September. The program is flexible and organised to meet the needs of participants.
Where? Properties and localities in the New England region.
- Integrating farm trees for conservation, agriculture & profit.
- Principles of producing quality timber, markets for tree and forestry products, tree and forest measurement, growth & management.
- Bush foods and other non-timber products.
- Shaping future landscapes: aesthetics, economics, farmers leading change, and more.
