Southern New England is excited to welcome Janeen Robb to the team in the role of Landholder Management Agreement Project Officer.
"I've been involved in a wide range of projects such as Office of Environments & Heritage’s Dryland Salinity Project, monitoring the importance of remnant vegetation to native birds, Armidale TreeGroup’s early dieback tree planting projects, and a vegetation mapping project form the Murray-darling Basin Commission," said Janeen.
"I particularly enjoyed my involvement in a joint Landcare/Aboriginal Land Council Cultural Heritage project, working with the local Aboriginal community and landholders to identify artefacts and sites of cultural interest," she said.
Over the last few years, Janeen has worked on several environmental and artistic community projects.
"Working with young people to create giant puppets for the Uralla Youthfest and Armidale Autumn Festival was also lots of fun," said Janeen.
Janeen came to Armidale to study Botany, Ecology, and various natural resource management courses at the University of New England.
She then stayed in the local area and raised a family, during which time she worked as a casual environmental consultant.
Janeen is looking forward to getting to know Southern New England Landcare's members, helping them with their plans for improving habitat on farms, and supporting other team members.
"After years of doing environmental work from behind a computer, it really is fantastic to be getting back outdoors!" said Janeen.
Janeen can be contacted on 02 6772 9123 or via email here.
