Celebrating World Soils Day

world soil day 25In recognition of World Soil Day, I’d like to recommend the best soils textbook I have ever read.

‘Soil – The incredible story of what keeps the earth, and us, healthy’ by Matthew Evens (2021) is proving to be a most engaging read.

My sister has followed Matthew Evans for years as he moved from writing food critiques to farming.

She was excited to visit his on-farm restaurant for her birthday and was not disappointed.

She gave my dad a copy of ‘Soils’, which he loved, constantly disturbing mum’s reading to share amazing facts with her.

 REGIONAL EVENTS

The following are some events happening across the New England from our regional partners and community groups.

Telecommunications Roadshow - Uralla

NSW Farmers invites members and the wider community to a series of free Telecommunications Information Roadshows.

These Information Sessions will take place at Uralla on Tuesday 9 December – Uralla Courthouse – 11am - 1pm.

Basic catering will be available. RSVPS are requested.

Telecommunications have been raised as a major issue to me as your Regional Services Manager at several Branch meetings and events.

As a result NSW Farmers is inviting The Regional Tech Hub, Telstra, NBN and the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman to visit various locations throughout the Regions to share information and share possible solutions to telecommunications issues.

I strongly ask you to consider attending an information session near you.

I don't promise you will get all the answers you are looking for but this is a rare opportunity to have all these groups in the same room and in the our Regions.

Please invite friends, neighbours and family.

RSVPS are essential.

Guest speakers:

  • Ian George & Michael Marom – Telstra
  • David Crough – NBN
  • Ellen Day – Regional Tech Hub
  • Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman
  • Jamie Coleman – Cmobile
  • Local Council Representative
  • Mick Collins – Regional Services Manager – NSW Farmers
