Carbon Rich Hosts Free Soil Carbon Field Day and Workshop Near Armidale

FarmePicture1rs across the region are invited to attend a free Soil Carbon Field Day and Workshop hosted by Carbon Rich on 28th November near Armidale.

This hands-on event will explore how soil carbon management can enhance farm productivity, reduce costs, and open doors to the emerging carbon credit market.

The event features a lineup of industry experts, including John Barton, Hamish Webb and Lock Rogers who will share valuable insights on soil carbon practices and provide farmers with practical tools for implementation on their own properties.

The NatioSave the Date A5 QR croppednal Feral Pig Action Plan 2021-2031 aims to deliver long term active suppression of feral pig populations to reduce their extensive impacts across 45% of Australia’s land mass.

The 2025 National Feral Pig Conference is the ideal opportunity for land managers, community groups, jurisdictions, NRM organisations and research agencies to come together to:

  • share how different management approaches are being used to control feral pig populations, and lessons learned
  • demonstrate benefits flowing from working in coordinated and collaborative ways
  • learn from others on how land managers are being supported to participate in local, community-led management activities
  • discover how insights from routine monitoring and new and existing technologies can optimise the success of feral pig management programs.

Expect to hear from guest speakers, industry leaders, and researchers pushing the boundaries in the field, plus a Wild Ideas Panel that will inspire you with bold, innovative approaches to achieving sustainability goals.

Plus, you’ll get a chance to savor a BBQ lunch from MLA Chef Sam Burke and UNE’s Pete McGilchrist.

Developed in Australia, it offers a collection of ‘thinking tools’ that is useful in the garden, on the farm, and more generally in life.

In these four workshops, we will apply permaculture principles (and related approaches such as regenerative agriculture and agroecology) to our gardens, farms, our common spaces, and our homes.

Upcoming Supply Chain Tour with Bindaree Food Group

Northern Tablelands Local Land Services are excited to announce a unique opportunity to gain insights into the supply chain with an upcoming tour in conjunction with Bindaree Food Group.

Join us on Wednesday, 20th November for a comprehensive look into market dynamics and production feedback.

Event Highlights:

  • Tour: Explore Myola Feedlot and Inverell Processing Plant for an in-depth understanding of how specification affects market destinations and how feedback from feedlots and processors can inform on-farm breeding decisions.
  • Networking Dinner: Connect with industry representatives over dinner, followed by insightful presentations at the Tattersalls Hotel, Inverell.

Cost: The tour and dinner are partially subsidized by LLS, with a participant fee of $100 payable upon registration.

Limited Spots Available: Due to high interest, spots are limited.

If we cannot accommodate all interested participants, we will consider running a second tour in early 2025.
