little llangothlin 7Join the Ben Lomond Landcare Group and the Guyra Landcare Network for a Picnic in Nature at the stunning Little Llangothlin Nature Reserve on Sunday, 20th October. 
 
“We are very excited to host our second annual Picnic in Nature,” said Elizabeth Rosser from Southern New England Landcare.
 
“The event is part of a simultaneous picnic coordinated by the Nature Conservation Council across NSW,” she said.

Farmers Invited to Strengthen Biosecurity at "Biosecurity On-Farm: A Practical Perspective"

1Southern New England Landcare and the Guyra Landcare Network invite local farmers to join experts for a one-day event dedicated to improving on-farm biosecurity practices.

“Biosecurity On-Farm: a Practical Perspective" will be held on October 23rd at the Guyra Community Hall, offering valuable insights on protecting livestock and farming operations from biosecurity threats.

“This event is an invaluable opportunity for local farmers to strengthen their biosecurity practices and safeguard their operations,” said Elizabeth Rosser, Local Landcare Coordinator with Southern New England Landcare.

The event will feature renowned speakers, including Dr Nigel Brown, Andrew Scott from the New England Weeds Authority and Jessira Saunders from Integrity Systems.

Armidale and Uralla Regional Drought Resilience Plan Survey

This Regional Drought Resilience Plan (RDRP) is a collaboration between Armidale Regional Council and Uralla Shire Council, to be developed alongside local industry and community to advance the region’s focus on its resilience to the impacts of drought.

The RDRP program is being delivered across Australia. It is one of five focus areas of the Commonwealth Government’s Future Drought Fund. These plans focus on innovative ways to build regional drought resilience, taking steps to plan now to stem the impact of future drought on our region.

Participants needed - CSIRO study: perceptions of technologies to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

The CSIRO is currently investigating stakeholders’ perceptions of mineral carbonation technologies to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. We are looking for potential participants to take part in a research interview. 

We believe that understanding the views of relevant stakeholders (e.g. community members, scientists, government and industry/business representatives, and environmental groups) is important for decision-making about these technologies. We are particularly interested in the views of stakeholders with connections to the New England region.
