Australian Plants Society invitation

Australian Plants Society Armidale and District Group invite you to their forum meeting on Tuesday 17th October at ASCA House, the corner of Barney and Markham Streets, Armidale. Visitors are welcome. The speaker will be Alicia Cooper, Manager of the Armidale Tree Group, with details of their exciting project “Every Tree Counts”. This ambitious revegetation project aims to link the escarpment in the west to that of the east with corridors of trees. Hear of the plans, the initial projects and how to be involved.

Muster to Shape the Future of Landcare in NSW

Do you want to have your say and have an opportunity to shape the future work of Landcare NSW? andcare NSW is offering the grassroots Landcare community the chance to do just that on Wednesday 25th October. The Landcare NSW Muster is held every two years to ensure that what Landcare NSW delivers on is based on what Landcarers asked them to do. This year it will be held on the morning of Wednesday 25th October before the 2017 NSW Landcare and Local Land Services Conference in Albury.

Women's Health Night @ Kentucky

LandArtFarm Walks over summer

LandArtFarm are hosting art-walk days on Sunday afternoons 12th, 19th and 26th November, 10th December, and 7th and 21st January. Sandra Welsman guides all walks fully. During summer, walks start at 3.30pm, meander to about 5.30 then include refreshments. There are no fees for LandArtFarm walks. If you would like to visit for a Sunday walk please let Sandra know. Advanced Seed Collecting Course

Northern Tablelands Local Land Services will be hosting a four day Advanced Seed Collecting Course in Uralla on 6-7 December 2017 and 8-9 February 2018. This course is great for anyone wishing to learn how to collect native seeds for propagation. Download the flier with more information here.

Farmers to continue to farm smarter under Landcare

Farmers, fishers and community groups will soon be ‘farming smarter’ thanks to $134 million for a landmark new program under the next phase of the Coalition Government’s $1 billion National Landcare Program.

  • $134 million over six years for the Smart Farms program
  • Part of Coalition Government’s $1 billion investment in the next phase of the National Landcare Program
  • Smart Farms is focused on protecting Australia’s natural resources of soils, water, vegetation and biodiversity by facilitating the development and adoption of more sustainable agricultural practices

Bill's Story - why it's important to lift the stigma around mental health

Take 6 minutes out. Watch this video. And pass it on. 

Bill's Story is one of an Australian farming family at Narromine, who got hit unexpectedly by depression and suicide. In a raw and honest account, Bill describes how he lost his father to a disease that is all too prevalent in males in the agricultural community.
