In the coming weeks as we wind down for the festive season, the team at Southern New England Landcare are collating the 2023 Landchat for your enjoyment, showcasing in full colour, all the great activities of this year.

Hard copies will be posted to members before Christmas. If you have not already signed up as a member (free), please sign up here before Friday 8th December.

Thankful for Soil Documentary Premier Screening and Q&A

The Thankful for Soil film, produced by Nviro Media with funding and support from Thankful for Farmers, celebrates the story of Australian farmers using the soil beneath their feet to combat climate change and build a brighter future for their family farms.

Thankful for Farmers and Nvrio Media, are hosting an online premier screening and Q&A and providing further information on the film. Landcare groups interested in partnering to host screening events are encouraged to attend the screening and Q&A to learn more.

NT LLS Agronomy Updates

Join Northern Tablelands Local Land Services and Barenbrug Australia to learn about weeds, pastures, and forage options to meet your current needs. Topics include:

  • Weeds – Learn about high-risk weeds in our region, how to identify them, what to do if you find something new on your place and how to reduce the risk to your property.
  • Forage Options – Practical tips on selecting forage options and factors to consider including seed availability, timing of feed demand, seasonal conditions, breed/variety planting windows, and nutrition requirements.

Light refreshments will be provided.

  • Uralla: 8.30 am – 11 am at Uralla: Wednesday 6 December, Uralla Showground, 8 King St, Uralla.
  • Armidale: Tuesday 12 December, Armidale Showground, 5 Dumaresq St, Armidale.
