Koalas - lights, camera, action!

Detection DogThe “Koalas in the Spotlight” event was held at the Newholme field laboratory, a University of New England research property and well-known koala corridor, on the evening of 19 March.

The event attracted 40 people, with numbers limited by COVID restrictions. Attendees were treated to a demonstration by "Baxter", the Koala Detective Dog, and the dog handler team from the University of Sunshine Coast, who are currently surveying Northern Tablelands Koala populations. Those people who missed their chance for a ticket maybe in luck later in the year, as Southern New England Landcare aims to hold a similar event toward the end of 2021.
