Strengthening Rural Communities (SRC) - Bushfire RecoveryFunds: $25,000 Closing: 17 November 2020 The Strengthening Rural Communities (SRC) program aims to give the thousands of small rural, regional and remote communities across Australia an opportunity to access funding to support broad community needs. Given the events of summer 2019/20, it has also been expanded to offer funding to support recovery in bushfire-affected communities. |
Bushfire Recovery for Wildlife & Habitat Community GrantsFunds: $5,000 to $150,000 Closing: 27 November 2020 Grants from The Bushfire Recovery for Wildlife and Habitat Community Grants Program supports local community groups to deliver bushfire recovery activities for native flora and fauna supporting broader long-term recovery and resilience. Community and environment groups, Traditional Owners, Indigenous Organisations and Indigenous businesses can apply to encourage recovery efforts in areas affected by the 2019-20 bushfires by:
The program is confined to bushfire-affected areas within the eastern and southern part of Australia affected by the 2019-20 bushfires, or adjacent to an affected area. There is $10 million available for this grant opportunity. |

Environment Restoration Fund: Wildlife Rescue & RehabilitationAvailable: $5,000 – $1,000,000 Closing: 29 November 2020 The purpose of the program is to provide funding to support wildlife rehabilitators (including community wildlife carer organisations, veterinarians, animal hospitals, zoos, local shelter operators and foster carers), to rescue, treat and rehabilitate wildlife impacted by bushfires and return them into suitable natural environments or otherwise take care of them. It will also support actions to preserve at-risk populations of threatened species impacted by destruction of their habitat through bushfire. The investment will also build organisational and carer capacity and preparedness to respond to future emergencies. More information here |
Bushfire Local Economic Recovery programBusiness Funding: $200,000 and $20 million Community Funding: $20,000 and $300,000 Closing date: Friday, 11 December 2020 Businesses and communities in Armidale, Glen Innes Severn, Gwydir, Inverell, Tamworth, Tenterfield, Upper Hunter, Uralla and Walcha local government areas, can apply from 27 October, 2020 for grants co-funded by the Australian and NSW governments. |
NSW Environmental Trust R&R GrantsFunds: $50,000 - $170,000 Closing: 3pm 14 December 2020 The NSW Environmental Trust is now inviting applications to the 2020/21 round of its Restoration and Rehabilitation Grants Program. A total of $4 million is available for projects that assist in the ongoing sustainable management and stewardship of significant environmental assets and services in NSW. Working Together Small Grants ProgramFunds: up to $2000 Closes: 30 April 2021 Landcare NSW has launched the “Working Together” Small Grants Program which seeks to support locally-driven collaboration activities to ensure that Aboriginal people become more immersed in the Landcare movement in NSW. Grants of up to $2,000 are available to Aboriginal organisations and/or Landcare NSW Member Groups located within NSW. To provide an additional incentive for Aboriginal communities to maintain ongoing engagement with the Landcare movement, successful applicants who are identified as an Aboriginal entity will also receive one year’s membership of Landcare NSW, which includes access to the full range of member benefits. Drought Assistance Fund ExpandedThe NSW Government has announced the Drought Assistance Fund has been increased to $100,000. This interest-free loan has a term of seven years, with no repayments in the first two years.

Local Land Services Public Land Boundary Fencing ProgramPrivate landholders who share a boundary with public land and were impacted by the Northern and Southern fires of late 2019 and early 2020 are eligible to receive up to $5,000 per kilometre to contribute to the replacement of damaged boundary fences. |
