    Boot Camp for Landscape Regenerators

Regen Rural Landscapes SquareLandholders are invited to attend a two-day boot camp on September 16-17 with sought-after presenter, David Hardwick.

David Hardwick (Soil, Land, Food) and Damon Telfer (Fruition Environmental) will present the workshop and cover topics including: what are the fundamental principles behind landscape rehydration, what are the patches/elements that make up a farm landscape and how you can regenerate your soils and farm biodiversity.

David is well known in the region for his in-depth understanding and ability to communicate important aspects around soil health and landscape processes. Damon is a geomorphologist who specialises in restoring landscape function and has done great work in the restoration of reef sub-catchments in Queensland.

For a variety of landscapes, the course will be held at two different sites with Day 1 at Gordon and Wendy Williams’ ‘Eastlake’ near Uralla and Day 2 at Karen and Craig Zirklers’ ‘Bimbi Vale’, near Kentucky.

“David offers sound soils and landscape information based on rigorous science and has the ability to facilitate meaningful discussion and further understanding within a group setting; and then assist individuals to relate this information to their own farm situation," said Gordon Williams.

Rachel Lawrence, Landcare Coordinator with Southern New England Landcare said, “Several people are signed up already and it is really heartening to see people coming along as a family unit to learn together."

"There are limited places remaining so get in quickly if you want to join this dynamic couple of days,” she said.

This event is a part of Southern New England Landcare's Mustering Members for Climate Change Challenges project funded by the National Landcare Program. It offers a variation on approaches around landscape rehydration.
